I was once approached by some­one who asked…

“If I buy your book can you guar­an­tee I’ll become rich?”

to which I hon­estly answered…

“No, if you buy my book I guar­an­tee you’ll be $25 dol­lars poorer.”

There is noth­ing in my book, on this web­site, or nearly any­where that will make you rich…unless you take action. You can set goals, do tons of research, make all the plans you like but, until you pull the trig­ger, you don’t stand a chance of mak­ing any money.

Now, don’t feel alone, every­one does it. My son saved up his money to buy an iPad, took him most of a year. When he finally had enough, a refur­bished iPad came up for sale on the Apple store, for the expected price…but he froze. After a year of sav­ing, he finally real­ized that it was a lot of money, and wasn’t sure he wanted to actu­ally spend it, so he waited. By the time he’d finally come to terms with it, the refur­bished model was no longer available…

In another exam­ple, I stum­bled across an entire apart­ment block that was incred­i­bly priced this year, I told sev­eral peo­ple about the oppor­tu­nity, all of whom expressed an inter­est in start­ing out in real estate. All of them went through the view­ings, talk­ing to the banks, and every­thing but, when it came to mak­ing the actual offer, they froze. It was a big step out­side of their com­fort zone.

Even I suf­fer from the same fate, before Christ­mas I was look­ing at invest­ing in a few com­pa­nies. The prices looked right, they met my cri­te­ria, but, being the hol­i­days, I just never got around to plac­ing that order…that and I still worry about mak­ing a wrong call. Now those stocks have increased at least 10% over the last month…

Of course, in none of these cases have we missed the boat. My son even­tu­ally bought an iPad2 at an even bet­ter price. My friends are still inter­ested in real estate and, hav­ing started the process, seem a lit­tle more con­fi­dent of the pro­ce­dure, and there are still stocks avail­able out there that I’m look­ing at.

Les­son: If you’re unwill­ing to pull the trig­ger, noth­ing will even have the chance of pay­ing off for you. That’s guaranteed.
